Radical shifts in pH represents a potent method of practicing medicine. It would behoove us all to learn how to do this because we are facing the end of the age of antibiotics, and that will be brutal for those who do not jump ship from mainstream medicine. The Arm & Hammer Baking Soda Company knew and published information about using their product for medical purposes in 1926.

We can violently pull the rug out from under most pathogens by bombarding them with a blast of alkalinity. Further destruction of pathogens will result when we take high dosages of iodine, along with supplying our immune system with plenty of magnesium, selenium and sulfur.

When it comes to fighting cancer, adding cannabinoids to the above mix can pretty much ensure that your chances of outliving your cancer will be dramatically heightened. More Alkaline, More Oxygen

Researchers found that an increase of 1.2 metabolic units (oxygen consumption) was related to a decreased risk of cancer death, especially in lung and gastrointestinal cancers.[1]

According to Annelie Pompe, a prominent mountaineer and world-champion free diver, alkaline tissues can hold up to 20 times more oxygen than acidic ones. When our body cells and tissue are acidic (below pH of 6.5-7.0), they lose their ability to exchange oxygen, and cancer cells just love that.

Those in the sports world understand the benefits of taking sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) orally before workouts or athletic events—doing so raises the oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood. One can actually feel the difference in performance—it is that noticeable. One of the limitations of using bicarbonate orally in this fashion is that it can provoke diarrhea during an event if taken in high enough dosages.

Alkaline, high-oxygen conditions retard cancer growth—we know that. At a pH of 8.0 or slightly greater, cancer cells and cancer-causing pathogenic microbes (viruses, bacteria, fungus) do not do well. They get sick, stagger and then die in large numbers—so quickly in some cases that the body has trouble clearing the carnage.

Oxygen-rich environments are critical for combating the growth of anaerobic bacteria (i.e., bacteria that grow in the absence of oxygen). In contrast, cancer only thrives in an oxygen-deficient (hypoxic) environment. Most cancer patients have very acidic body tissue pH, around 4 or 5.

A healthy cell breathes oxygen for energy. A cancer cell shuns oxygen and ferments sugar instead for its energy requirements.

The ideal task of cancer therapy is to restore the function of the oxidizing systems,” wrote Dr. Max Gerson in his book, A Cancer Therapy: Results of Fifty Cases and the Cure of Advanced Cancer. And for good reason! Deprive a cell of 60% of its oxygen and it will turn cancerous. “Deprive a cell of 35% of its oxygen for 48 hours and it may become cancerous,” said Dr. Otto Warburg. Deprived of air we die, but our cells have a bastardly trick up their sleeves where they can survive low-oxygen conditions. We call this condition cancer, the slow starvation of healthy cells while cancer cells thrive.

If you read my book, Sodium Bicarbonate, Rich Man’s Poor Man’s Cancer Treatment, you will delve deeply into these subjects. The main point here is that sodium bicarbonate increases oxygen through alkalinity with the ability to pass through all tissue barriers so treatments get into the brain and the bones. High O2 levels are fortunately lethal to cancer tissue whereas normal tissues are not harmed by more oxygen. Indeed tissues normally need more O2 for the very reason they are too acidic and because of magnesium and other deficiencies.

Just about everyone knows by now that an acid pH body is more prone to illness. In an acidic environment, red blood cells cannot repel each other so they stick together like a stack of coins, forming what is called rouleau formation. When red blood cells get sandwiched, compressed against each other, they are unable to carry much oxygen. Magnesium deficiency weighs in heavily here because magnesium enhances the binding of oxygen to haem proteins.[2]

The structure of hemoglobin is easily compromised by heavy metals like mercury as are all sulfur-bearing proteins[3] like insulin, etc. Heavy metals can also encourage the blood to coagulate. Heavy metals therefore reduce the transport of oxygen.

Dr. Otto Warburg published a Nobel-Prize-winning paper over 75 years ago describing the environment of the cancer cell. A normal cell undergoes an adverse change when it can no longer take up oxygen to convert glucose into energy by oxidation. In the absence of oxygen the cell reverts to a primitive nutritional program to sustain itself—it produces glucose through fermentation. The lactic acid produced by fermentation lowers the cell pH (acid/alkaline balance) and destroys the ability of DNA and RNA to control cell division. The cancer cells then begin to multiply unchecked. Therefore a cancer cell is an oxygen-starved cell.

Drs. D. F. Treacher and R. M. Leach write, “Tissues have no storage system for oxygen. They rely on a continuous supply at a rate that precisely matches changing metabolic requirements. If this supply fails, even for a few minutes, tissue hypoxaemia may develop resulting in anaerobic metabolism and production of lactate.”[4] Cancer needs anaerobic—absence-of-oxygen—conditions to grow and spread.

All normal body cells meet their energy need by respiration of oxygen, whereas cancer cells meet their energy needs in great part by fermentation. This energy-burning process (sugar fermentation) releases mainly lactic acid and carbon monoxide instead of carbon dioxide. Any element that threatens the oxygen-carrying capacity of the human body will promote cancer growth. Likewise any therapy that improves the oxygen function can be expected to enhance the body’s defenses against cancer.

Hypoxemia, or what might be called “blocked oxidation,” is followed by fermentation of sugar in cells, which then leads to the primary condition upon which cancer and infectious and inflammatory processes feed. Viruses are “anaerobic” creatures that thrive in the absence of oxygen. Yeast, mold and fungus live in an anaerobic environment. Most strains of harmful bacteria (and cancer cells) are anaerobic and are not comfortable in the presence of higher oxygen levels.

Things get complicated for us when our immune system has become compromised. Our tissues get lower and lower in oxygen and our cells start to suffocate, ferment, and attract pathogens, which, when all combined in a deadly mix, begin to grow in an uncontrolled manner. That is a good preliminary definition of cancer, though in my book, The Changing Landscape of Cancer, I go much further.

In Winning the War on Cancer we go deep into the nightmare of mercury and how that fits so tightly with cancer. It’s important to know that mercury binds with hemoglobin, which is responsible for oxygen transport to the tissues. When the body is polluted with mercury, less oxygen reaches the tissues.

Summation

Anything that depletes and disturbs the immune system will increase one’s chances of contracting cancer.

Acidic diets coupled with toxic emotions and stress, poor breathing,[5] chemical and heavy-metal contamination and mineral deficiencies all combine to create an acid pH in the cells. This causes low oxygen levels (hypoxia), which promotes the proliferation of destructive anaerobic microbes, and immune-suppression also results.

The alkaline and thus the oxygen levels of the body are influenced partly by our emotions. Joyous, happy, love-filled emotions tend to create alkaline-forming chemical reactions in the body. Conversely, emotions filled with anger, fear, jealousy, hate, etc. create acidic-forming chemical reactions in the body.

Stress causes acidity. Negative emotions cause acidity. If you deal with chronic stress or negative emotions, you need to launch your pH deep-penetration bunker-buster bombs and start practicing pH medicine today.

    2 pounds in a bath is WAY too much. I have been experimenting with Bicarb baths. Started with 1/3 cup in a bath. Now do one cup.
    Very good results!
    But I find that even these levels cause strong feelings of breathlessness / heaviness in the chest – as though I could pass out – after I get out, until I’ve showered off all bicarb.
    So if you try this, start off VERY slow and TAKE IT EASY. It is still, after all, not natural.

    You keep saying that one shouldn’t consume baking soda daily but give no reasons or evidence to substaniate this. The only way to know if something is worth taking is through live blood analysis. If your blood is improving, then keep at it. If not, make a change.

    Dr. Robert Young has proven this thousands of times for many years. His research is absolutely cutting edge. How he hasn’t won a Nobel Prize is beyond me. Back to the point, in the last few years one of his biggest breakthroughs is with his recommendation of ingesting more salt (not table salt). He has always been a proponent of this before but not to the degree he is now because of the huge improvements he sees with people’s blood which in turn manifests itself into improvements in one’s health. One of the biggest allies in his arsenal is of course, baking soda.

      Hi Darrin,

      In Dr. Sircus’ bicarbonate book are references to problems that can occur when the body becomes too alkaline. Just do a search on the Internet and you will find this in many places.

      Now, if people are following Dr. Young’s protocols and testing by live blood analysis that is not the same as getting a serum blood test from the allopathic medical doctors. I’m not familiar enough with Robert Young’s protocol to know what his bicarbonate recommendations are or how he determines when enough is enough. But I do know he also recommends strongly that people go on a very alkaline-forming diet which should reduce the need for oral bicarbonate. And does he and his clients stick to the recommendation of maximum dose of bicarb being no more than 7 Half tsp. per day (3 and a half total tsp/day) if under age 60 or only 3 half tsp (total 1 and 1/2 tsp/day tota) if over age 60? I wonder how many people take more than they should and I wonder how many people take much more than waht is recommended instead of also getting on the recommended diet?

      The consequences of over-alkalizing can be severe, and sometimes even fatal.
      Only under supervision of a qualified health practitioner should people take more than the recommended dosages and only when treating specific conditions (cancer, kidney disease) should these limits be exceeded.

      I have also personally experienced over-alkalinization from too high a bicarbonate level in my blood and can tell you that the experience was not at all pleasant and in fact is very disturbing with shortness of breath and other of the symptoms stated in the references above. This can lead to severe consequences. Ingesting too much bicarbonate of soda was the problem for me ….I was taking it for stomach problems caused by other medicine I was taking and it stopped when we stopped that medicine and stopped bicarbonate ingestion.

      Salt is not the problem…..except in some salt-sensitive people who should always be checking their blood pressures to see the effect of sodium bicarbonate . sodium bicarbonate, even when used for cancer treatments at much higher levels than recommended should be stopped after a week or two for a break to allow the body functions to return to its normal functioning and then possibly re-started under qualified health practitioner’s care. Too much bicarbonate is the problem for many, and its best to be safe and not sorry.

    I am completely for natural healing. Just a note on taking bicarb orally.. The stomach uses hydrochloric acid and bile (highly acidic) to digest food. Bicarb being highly alkaline would interfere with this very important acidic state, whereby the stomach contents will not be broken down to be digested as they should. Perhaps if bicarb was to be consumed an empty stomach only would be a better idea..? I personally believe that the best way
    To alkalize your body is breathing clean air drinking clean (no chlorine fluoride) filtered water, avoid all tv as the stress from the crap bombarding your mind is acid forming (true!! Cortisol created, making toxic by products) fruit veggies and salad in large quantities, regular walking, laughing daily..( find funny pictures videos movies friends) do fun things ( try lazer tag!!) loads of vitamin c (powders, tablets have to much salt) potassium magnesium calcium essential.. I believe most cancer is fungal.. So heaps of garlic onions and cruciferous veggies.. Avoid sugar (gaaah so hard!!) fungus and cancer both love iron!!! So a persistent iron deficiency not clearing up with suppliments could be feeding bloody fungus!!! Need molybdenum (antifungal ) kill candida then do iron supplementing… Research this..!!!

      Great ideas from Lisa!
      Sodium bicarb is definitely best taken on an empty stomach. First thing in the morning is excellent.
      Adding Betaine HCl (hydrochloride) — a couple of tabs taken with a meal —l would provide extra insurance that you have enough acidity in the stomach to properly digest your food. You actually need to be alkaline in order for your body to produce optimal levels of HCl. (Which commonly decline with age). So it’s not a bad idea to take it with food if you think you’re acidic, or just have less than optimal digestion.

I was most intrigued with the supplementation of iodine, magenesium, sulfur, selenium and cannabinoids. Sounds like a path towards regeneration if you ask me. Godspeed.

    • I’m not sure where you are getting your inatomfrion, but if you do test positive for the gene it is illegal for any insurance company to use this as a preexisting condition, to deny coverage or to base the cost of coverage under HIPAA. They also do not have the right to decide if you have a bilateral mastectomy or not. That decision is up to the patient period.The doctors I work with recommend the person already diagnosed with Breast cancer get the test first, because if they do not have the gene there is no reason for anyone else to be tested. If you are still concerned and you are paying for the test yourself I suggest you have it done under an alias so there is no way the results can be tracked back to you. This is common practice when working with famous and/or celebrity patients and your doctor should have no problem with it. If you do choose this route however, be very careful about keeping you paperwork as you may have a difficult time should you need copies later.EDIT: Okay, well I have received mine from a physician who spoke at a cancer meeting at UCLA. So after seeing your response I did a little searching and found it is not as clear cut as I thought, partially because it has also not been tested in the courts. There is also another point not brought up here regarding employers. I posted a link to one of the most current documents on found on the Department of Health and Human Services website so that you can read it over. Apparently this problem has been discussed for 8-10 years now and I read doing this search that Bush was supposed to sign a bill regarding this, but it did not list the bill number and did not read confirmation that it was signed. Hope this helps a little.I would go the alias route.

    This is a very good article on how to cure cancer, my wife bookmarked it.
    And I was thinking how baking soda would work mixed in DMSO, and used transdermaly.
    DMSO goes right to the cancer cells in seconds, and it is a good carrier, it would carry the baking soda to the cancer cell directly, so would be no need to mix it with molasses, DMSO would be a faster, better carrier. So doing it this way would it work better? And what would be a good protocol for this. how much liquid DMSO,? what strength? How much baking soda? How many times a day? how long? And maybe even use it with the oral molasses and baking soda mixture together how many times a day, And how long? Did anyone tried this before?

      Can you please tell me what is DMSO, because I take 2×1 Teaspoon of Sod Bicarb daily and it keeps my Ph at roughly 8 whether by Urine or Saliva

        DMSO. dimethyl sulfoxide . a very powerful industrial solvent, paint and varnish remover. made from wood.Athletes use it for joint and muscle pain, stimulates the immune system, some people use it to cure cancer, and almost everything else. Doctors keep the transplant organs in it between transplants, you could buy it as a liquid, gel, or cream, but only as a solvent, or from your veterinarian for your horses and animals.It is used mostly topically but people used it orally and intravenously, I think it converts into MSM. If you put some on your skin, in one second you may taste it like oyster, or garlic. You could see your doctor about it, but most doctors know nothing about stuff like this, or they are not allowed tell you about it they could loose their doctors license.

      Gilgamesh, to answer your question would need much own research, I guess. I am also interested in the answers of your questions, if you get it from somewhere, please share it here for us to get benefited. I know DMSO from the MMS Movement (Jim Humble). It is used for all cancer treatments. I have not tested it, as I do not have cancer (as far as I know).

    • The information you were given is diefnrfet from what I received. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer last year. I went to genetic counseling and was hesitant to get the test because I was afraid I would never be able to switch to a diefnrfet insurance policy (say if I moved to a diefnrfet state). if I tested positive. I was told that the insurance companies can not deny you coverage as long as you have had no lapse in insurance. My husband and I pay for our own insurance because he’s self-employed, so I figure they may not deny me, but they probably would hit me up for a pretty steep premium. As for the catch-22 and needing to get a double mastectomy and re-construction immediately or treatments won’t be covered if you get Cancer also seems odd .. You should really get a second opinion on this.

    What is the best way to test your PH level using the pH test strips? Urine or saliva?

    • you are better off not geitntg tested, it is not really a reliable predictor of Breast cancer and a double mastectomy is very drastic for something that may or may not happen ..it is better to get your yearly exams and do monthly self Breast exams, immediately contact your GYN if you notice a suspicious lump or abnormalityDoes every woman with an inherited altered BRCA gene get cancer?A woman with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 alteration is at higher risk for developing breast, ovarian, and other cancers than a woman without an alteration. However, not every woman who has an altered BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene will get cancer, because genes are not the only factor that affects cancer risk.Most cases of Breast cancer do not involve altered genes that are inherited. At most, about 1 in 10 Breast cancer cases can be explained by inherited alterations in BRCA1 and 2 genes.Testing for Breast and ovarian cancer risk will not give you a simple yes or no answer. If a gene alteration is found, this will tell that you have an increased risk of geitntg cancer, but it will not tell if or when cancer will develop. If an alteration is not found, it still is no guarantee that cancer won’t develop

    Just curious, the article doesn’t mention how much baking soda a personae should take. Anybody know how much a person should take to alkalize everyday versus how much when you have a cold, flu etc?

      You shouldn’t need to take baking soda daily to alkalinize, there’s more to it than just that. You also have to change your diet and eat more alkaline producing foods. Long use of baking soda is not good but it gives a great jump start to getting in a more alkaline state. Please read the book on sodium bicarbonate that Dr. Sircus wrote:

      Use of sodium bicarbonate shoud be guided by checking your daily pH so as not to get too alkaline.

      For colds you can take more for a short time and this is described in the book. For cancers it’s necessary to bring pH up to 8 and to keep it there for 1-2 weeks, then stopping and starting the process all over again.

      For kidney disease the bicarb can be taken daily if you have trouble excreting acid which is shown by blood test.
