Bicarbonate & Magnesium – Medical Baths

Published on August 3, 2010

I could have called this book Therapeutic Bicarbonate Magnesium Baths but I chose the word medical to distinguish the difference between something calming, soothing and gradually therapeutic and what I am going to stress in this book – a stronger kind of medical intervention where we are looking for immediate effects as we would in an emergency room.

As such, this book is directed toward doctors and alternative healthcare practitioners, though ordinary people can also learn of the benefits of treating themselves – or parents can treat their children – safely and effectively using the methods found within these pages. There is a full range of situations, including cancer, where medical baths can help save the day. In the present situation in the Gulf region bicarbonate and magnesium baths as well as clay baths can help enormously to neutralize airborne oil toxicity that directly threaten all aspects of human and animal physiology.

The secret to safe and effective medicine is found in using medicinal substances in reasonable doses that do not have side effects. This is the very meaning of safe –something that will not harm. Magnesium and bicarbonate together are miraculous and it really is not an exaggeration to say that miracles in medicine would be achieved if people’s magnesium and bicarbonate deficiencies were addressed instead of ignored.

The medicines we are going to be using in our baths – sodium bicarbonate, magnesium chloride, and sodium thiosulfate – create a sound center for the safe practice of naturopathic and allopathic medicine.

It is important to realize that our relaxing baths can be brought up to therapeutic levels where they can be used in emergency situations such as nuclear fallout, before and after surgery, chemotherapy and, most importantly, before and after dangerous medical tests or therapies that use radiation. These are serious medical situations where our bathing experience, knowledge, and stocks of concentrated nutritional mineral medicines can be lifesavers.

For adults, medicinal baths can be a luxury, but for a baby they can sometimes mean the difference between life and death. This is a vitally important form of medicine for parents taking care of their children without the expense and interference of pediatricians who are more interested in poisoning their kids with lethal vaccines that do more harm than good. Vaccines are causing a pandemic in neurological damages with accompanying severe learning disabilities. Medical officials will go to their graves claiming it’s safe to inject babies with thimerosal, which is 50 percent organic mercury by weight, leaving parents and healthcare providers the dirty work of cleaning up their mess.

Bath time is more than just a time to clean your baby or child; it can also be a special time to care for a child’s nutritional and medical needs even when perfectly healthy. By loading their baths with nutritional medicinals like bicarbonate, magnesium and even iodine, we can strengthen our children against the toxicities of the world. We can also strengthen them before receiving ill-advised vaccines since their magnesium and bicarbonate deficient bodies will be more vulnerable to the toxic insult that vaccines present directly to the blood, which is, after all, a highly sensitive medium.

For parents who blindly accept everything their pediatricians say or prescribe, it is important to know about these baths so you can treat your young ones both before and after receiving multiple vaccines. If your child is having a reaction to a vaccine, you can mediate against damages with a concentrated bicarbonate and magnesium bath.

  • Very good information. Lucky me I discovered your website by chance (stumbleupon).
I’ve book marked it for later!

You cannot go wrong reading Marks books. His information is highly educational. I had Fibro and Chronic Fatigue and was critically low in magnesium levels. How do I know. I imported Magnesium Chloride from the US before it was available in Australia and took baths 6 days a week. After 12 months of taking those baths my turnaround in health was amazing – trust me read this information it was not available when I started out. Realise that the body is deficient in these important and crucial minerals I do as I did – just go for it, you have a lot to gain and nothing to lose. From readin Marks books you will gain so much insight you will not regret.

Big M sounds somewhat cynical…but, I agree, would it not be nb to possibly offer dosages re ratio of sodium bicarb and magnesium for baths, also if one is trying to alkalinize their chlorinated, florinateds and demineralized drinking water….is bicarb addition theonly tyhing needed or are you advising that one purchase mineralized spring waters as previously suggested. ps many thanks and gratitude for all your integrity and hope.

  • Big M

Maybe I’m missing something here, but if this is so important, wouldn’t it be nice to post some kind of dosage levels for different types of people? I’m sure that selling the book and making money is nice and all, but can’t this info be posted?

hi i have been giving my four year old baking soda baths and he first ended up with a 24 hour virus – fever and vomiting. then after the next bath his behavior became almost unmanageable. is there any connection?

    • Claudia – IMVA Staff

      Dear Kathlene,

It would be VERY unusual if these things are related to baking soda baths, but cut back on the amount you are using and see if things improve.

    Dr. Sircus –

I’ve bought this book and started doing soaking baths with Magnesium Chloride.

A question about the quality/grade to use.
Is it necessary to purchase expensive “Reagent” grade?
    Or is “Technical” grade suitable?

In my area, one chemical supply company offers Reagent grade for about US $20.00 / 1 kilogram.
Another supply company offers Technical grade for US $0.85 / 1 kilogram.
    Big difference in price.
Only 85 CENTS per kilo for the Technical grade, if purchased in a 25 kg bag.
    Tempting, of course.
Can Technical grade be used for soaking baths, or not?

In addition, I’ve been brushing my teach with Magnesium Chloride + water solution.
Superb improvement in my gums, so I will certainly continue doing that.
For this, is Technical grade suitable, or should only the more pure Reagent grade be used?

    Thank you.

My 80 year old mother has dealt with Kidney disease for sometime. Her kidney doctor actually was prescribing her medications that had warnings on them that it was harmful to kidneys… insane is that altho he does own about 14 dialysis couldn’t have been his motive for prescribing these drugs could it?

My true question is how can Bicarbonate and Magnesium help people with kidney issues. Can these baths be safe for someone who is on anxiety drugs like Ativan…can these baths be helpful in a person who wants to get off these drugs but find themselves addicted to them…..doctors do not seem to be profiecent in helping patients to get off these drugs but only in getting them addicted to them. Your comments and thoughts are appreciated!

Many people have a reticulated water supply which has many contaminants, pesticides, fluoride, chlorine etc. Surely exposing the body to these in a prolonged way via a bath would result in absorption of these things?

Is there some way (short of filtering the water supply) of neutralising these compounds before adding the sodi bic and mag chlor?

When one is having a steam sauna is there any way of theraputic use of sodi bic and/or mag chlor pre dissolved in the water used to make the steam? If so do you have protocols for same?

    regards, Hannah

Hannah, i have a shower filter and i use that to fill up my tub, it takes out most of the chlorine and many of the VOC’s
