Most people assume correctly that chemotherapy is incredibly toxic with side effects that can rip your heart apart, provoke more cancer, and cause miserly and an earlier visit to a grave. No one disputes the long list of nasty side effects of chemotherapy. Chemo is poisonous, and sometimes, it does poison cancer cells before it poisons and kills the patient.
Dr. Michael J. Hassett found that “Chemotherapy-related serious adverse effects among women with breast cancer may be more common than reported by large clinical trials and lead to more patient suffering and health care expenditures than previously estimated.”
Only 6 percent of all advanced epithelial cancers are cured by orthodox oncology.[i] We have been hearing for years how well modern oncology has been doing. Many of us have suspected this was not true. However, now, almost every day in the news, we read that cancer incidence is rising among adults under 50, leaving doctors scratching their heads and searching for answers modern medicine is not prepared to find.
As chemical, heavy metal, and genetic vaccine toxicity dramatically increase across the board, having your oncologist increase your toxic burden with chemotherapy and radiation does not make sense anymore, not that it ever did.
However, it does not have to be this way. There are natural chemotherapy agents that are inexpensive, safe, and effective, but your oncologist does not want to know anything about them. The blinders on oncologists are absolute. They are supremely arrogant, and their patients and modern civilization pay an ever-increasing higher price.
There is no comparison in using substances
that can kill with concentrated natural
nutritional substances that heal and nurture.
There are several potent natural chemo agents. The most basic is the most inexpensive medicine available in your local pharmacy. It’s used in ambulances, emergency departments, dialysis units, ICUs, and even by some oncologists with some extra harsh chemo agents to neutralize damaging acids.
It is the most basic form of chemo, and it works like a charm and can be used with other natural and toxic forms of chemotherapy, making them safer and more effective. I am talking about sodium bicarbonate, plain old baking soda.
There are four easy-to-understand actions of bicarbonates. First, according to the latest research from the Ludwig Cancer Institute, bicarbonate floods into cancer cells, forcing them to turn back on the circadian rhythm that they shut off so they can eat around the clock, be as aggressive as possible, and spread. The clock for normal cells governs the time for rest, regeneration, and recuperation and 12 hours for activity and eating. So bicarbonates, though they might not kill cancer cells outright, put them at a disadvantage because they cannot eat as much. That would make them less virulent and more vulnerable.
The second major thing bicarbonate does is neutralize the lactic acid surrounding cancer tumors. Acid fluids and tissues incapacitate killer T-Cells, making them lazy and ineffective. But when the acid surrounding tumors is neutralized, it calls up the Marines of the immune system, which are these killer T-Cells, and they will be able to penetrate and kill, as good marines do, the enemy.
The third major effect of bicarbonates is to flood the body fluids with oxygen (by increasing CO2 levels), which lifts all boats and strengthens the immune system. The more acid the body has, the more H+ ions and the less oxygen it has, whereas alkaline is OH, meaning the more alkalinity there is, the more oxygen there is.
How cancer cells move and metastasize is influenced by the fluids surrounding them. The fourth major effect of increasing bicarbonates (CO2) in the body is its effect on the extracellular environments around cancer cells and tumors. Everyone knows that all biological life is pH sensitive, which goes for inside and outside cancer cells. The cells’ surroundings, known as their microenvironment, contribute in some way to how cancer has occurred and how it spreads.
The interactions between cancer cells and their micro and macro environments create a context that promotes tumor growth and protects them from immune attack (cutting the immune system’s Marines legs, the second major effect). Cancer cells cannot turn into lethal tumors without the cooperation of other cells nearby. It is not just the other surrounding cells but the interstitial environment, which is largely controlled by pH. Bicarbonate offers radical shifts in pH. (Next week, we will publish about how the surrounding fluids dramatically affect câncer treatment outcomes.)
Simple! It is too simple for oncologists, who make a lot of money dispensing toxic chemotherapy, and too cheap for pharmaceutical companies. Bicarbonate also addresses the basic deficiency of bicarbonate in the bloodstream, which is the same as saying low carbon dioxide in the blood, which forces down oxygen delivery to the cells.
Carbon dioxide is a nutrient as well as a product of respiration
and energy production in the cells and its lack or deficiency
is of itself a starting point for different disturbances in the body.
There are numerous ways to increase bicarbonates and CO2 in the blood. First, there are sodium, potassium, and magnesium bicarbonates. One can use these orally and with sodium bicarbonate, which can also be nebulized and used in foot and full baths at high concentrations. Magnesium bicarbonate makes the very best drinking water. Then, one can use CO2 directly with a CO2 Dry Body Suit and through a CO2 inhaler, which will become available in February 2024.
Basic scientific research sustains the views and use of sodium bicarbonate in cancer treatment. Dr. Julian Whitaker and Mark McCarty write, “The degree to which pH is depressed in tumors—as mirrored by their lactate levels—tends to correlate with prognosis, the more acidic tumors being associated with poorer outcome. In part, this phenomenon may reflect the fact that tumor acidity serves as a marker for HIF-1 activation, which works in various complementary ways to boost tumor capacity for invasion, metastasis, angiogenesis, and chemo-resistance. However, there is increasing evidence that extracellular acidity per se contributes to the aggressiveness of cancer cells, boosting extracellular proteolytic activities, expression of pro-angiogenic factors, and metastatic capacity.”
Genes directly experience external pH.
Researchers have investigated the very reasonable assumption that increased systemic concentrations of pH buffers would lead to reduced intratumoral and peritumoral acidosis and, as a result, inhibit malignant growth. It has been shown that increased serum concentrations of sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) can be achieved via oral intake. These researchers found that consequent reduction of tumor acid concentrations significantly reduces tumor growth and invasion without altering the pH of blood or normal tissues.[ii]
Oral NaHCO3 selectively increased the pH of tumors and reduced the formation of spontaneous metastases in mouse models of metastatic breast cancer. NaHCO3 therapy also reduced the rate of lymph node involvement and significantly reduced the formation of hepatic metastases. Acid pH increased the release of active cathepsin B, an important matrix remodeling protease.[iii]
Magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) has shown that the pH of MCF-7 human breast cancer xenografts can be effectively and significantly raised with sodium bicarbonate in drinking water.[iv]
Glutathione Chemotherapy Ramps Up the Immune System
Glutathione is the most important cellular defense that allows the body to prevent and fight infections and disease. Glutathione plays a crucial role in the immune response, DNA repair, and detoxification process that neutralizes drugs, chemicals, radiation, and metabolic wastes, beats down viruses and bacteria, and reduces toxins and carcinogens that are increasingly present in our environment.
Our immune cells are designed to protect us, but what protects the immune cells? Glutathione feeds, protects, and strengthens our immune system. Glutathione boosts white blood cell production to fight infection, particularly the T-cells, which are called lymphocytes.
Selenium to Ramp Up the Immune System
Selenium is a potent immune stimulator. An 18-month study of 262 patients with AIDS that found those who took a daily capsule containing 200 micrograms of selenium ended up with lower levels of the AIDS virus and more health-giving CD4 immune system cells in their bloodstreams than those taking a dummy pill. These AIDS patients who took selenium were able to suppress the deadly virus in their bodies and boost their fragile immune systems.
Selenium is an important medicine, being that we live in a mercury-polluted world. Using a lipid form of selenium allows doses as high as 15 to 20 milligrams, transforming it into a potent form of natural chemotherapy that is easy to administer under the tongue.
Magnesium to Ramp Up the Immune System
Magnesium deficiency seems to be carcinogenic, and in case of solid tumors, a high level of supplemented magnesium inhibits carcinogenesis.[v] Culture of lymphocytes from humans in Mg-deficient media, resulted in morphologically and functionally abnormal cells. Mg is strongly related to the immune system in both nonspecific and specific immune responses, also known as innate and acquired immune responses.
Some medical scientists believe that mitochondrial problems may be at the heart of all chronic diseases, including cancer. People’s health and energy largely depend on how much oxygen they have and how well their mitochondria utilize it. Dr. Seeger and Dr. Johanna Budwig in Germany have shown that cancer is mainly the result of faulty energy metabolism in the powerhouses of the cells, the mitochondria. ATP and most of the enzymes involved in energy production require magnesium. A healthy cell has high magnesium and low calcium levels. The problem with low magnesium (Mg) levels is that calcium builds up inside the cells while energy production decreases as the mitochondria gradually calcify.
Magnesium in cancer treatment has a long history (90 years), but oncologists have short memories. Dr. Robert H. Craig, circa 1930, published ‘The Value of Magnesium Chloride as an Aid in the Treatment of Cancer.’ The importance of the biochemical approach to treating cancer with magnesium was also stressed by Prof. Pierre Delbet, Superintendent of the Cancer Institute, Paris. The Stockholm Weekly Journal, back in June 1931, published an article, ‘Take Magnesium and Escape Cancer.’
Medical Marijuana to Ramp Up the Immune System
Harvard scientists in 2007 said that the active ingredient in marijuana cuts tumor growth in lung cancer in half, significantly reducing the ability of the cancer to spread. “Cannabinoids have been shown to modulate a variety of immune cell functions in humans and animals and more recently, have been shown to modulate T helper cell development, chemotaxis, and tumor development. Many of these drug effects occur through cannabinoid receptor signaling mechanisms and the modulation of cytokines and other gene products. It appears the immunocannabinoid system is involved in regulating the brain-immune axis and might be exploited in future therapies for chronic diseases and immune deficiency.”
Researchers at the University of Milan in Naples, Italy, reported in the Journal of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics that non-psychoactive compounds in marijuana inhibited the growth of glioma cells in a dose-dependent manner, and selectively targeted and killed malignant cells through apoptosis. “Non-psychoactive CBD produces a significant anti-tumor activity both in vitro and in vivo, thus suggesting a possible application of CBD as an antineoplastic agent.”
Hydrogen is Serious Medicine for Cancer
Treating cancer with hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide is an approach that treats the fundamental reasons cancer cells form and get aggressive in the first place. Cancer should be treated not like a genetic disease it is not, and more like a metabolic disease, it is.
Inhaling hydrogen gas (with oxygen included) with a hydrogen inhalation device, from a cell’s point of view, is like standing under a waterfall that invigorates even as it cools. Hydrogen will help anyone stay alive longer, no matter what their situation.
It is hard to lose with hydrogen. H2 inhibits can cell viability, migration, and invasion and catalyzes cell apoptosis. Hydrogen helps us fight cancer directly, minimizing its spread.
All data show that H2 can inhibit the progression of lung cancer and down-regulate SMe. Inhalation of H2 can inhibit the growth of non-small cell lung cancer, and its mechanism is related to inhibiting the expression of Ki-67, Cox2, and VEGF.
In 1975, an impressive study demonstrated that hyperbaric molecular hydrogen therapy could be a cancer treatment. In this study, the researchers showed that exposing mice with skin cancer (tumors) to 2.5 percent oxygen (O2) and 97.5 hydrogen (H2) for two weeks produced a dramatic and significant regression of the mice tumors. A similar effect of hyperbaric hydrogen on leukemia was reported in 1978.
Carpet Bombing Cancer with Invincible Oxygen
This is what you want to do to cancer tumors. You want to blast them with oxygen. When we send in unending waves of oxygen into cancer cells, just like in warfare, we can carpet bomb them with that oxygen. Research scientists from the Cancer Research U.K.–MRC Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology & Biology at the University of Oxford have discovered that oxygen makes cancer cells weak and less resistant to treatment.
Oxygen pulls the rug out from under cancer cells and tumors by removing the basic condition that makes them virulent. Bicarbonates do the same thing, so using Oxygen and bicarbonate together is lethal to cancer cells. It just so happens that low oxygen conditions cause infections (which can cause cancer) and that the key cause of cancer is oxygen deficiency that forces, for survival’s sake, cells to turn cancerous.
Any element that threatens the Oxygen carrying capacity
of the human body will promote cancer growth.
Northeastern University researchers have found that inhaling supplemental oxygen—40 to 60% oxygen as opposed to the 21% oxygen in the air—can weaken immunosuppression and awaken anti-tumor cells. The new approach, some 30 years in the making, could dramatically increase the survival rate of patients with cancer, which kills some 8 million people each yearrr. The breakthrough findings were published in Science Translational Medicine.
Using Sunlight to Ramp Up Immune Response
Sunlight Offers Surprise Benefit, It Energizes Infection Fighting T Cells reads the headlines. Georgetown University Medical Center researchers have found that sunlight, through a mechanism separate than vitamin D production, energizes T cells that play a central role in human immunity.
Professor Gerard Ahern, who lead the study at Georgetown said, “We all know sunlight provides vitamin D, which is suggested to have an impact on immunity, among other things. “But what we found is a completely separate role of sunlight on immunity. Some of the roles attributed to vitamin D on immunity may be due to this new mechanism.”
The first reason that chlorine dioxide should routinely be used in every cancer patient’s protocol is that chlorine dioxide targets cancer cells like a magnet because of the lactic acid at the cancer site. Once chlorine dioxide comes into contact with lactic acid, it releases oxygen directly where it is most needed. Cancer cells produce excessive amounts of lactic acid because cancer cells have dysfunctional mitochondria, which prevents their use of the citric acid [Krebs] cycle.
Consequently, pyruvic acid, the product of glycolysis, which generally would enter the mitochondria for its total combustion into energy, is converted to lactic acid. It is reported that cancer cells can produce 40 times more lactic acid than normal cells. As a result, their metabolism is dirty and poisons the cells around them with increasing acidity.
Chlorine dioxide possesses anticancer and antiviral activities. Chlorine dioxide exhibited significant cytotoxicity against two breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7, MDA-MB-231) and three colorectal cancer cell lines (LoVo, HCT-116, SW-480). This cytotoxicity appeared to be associated with the capacity of chlorine dioxide to induce the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS).[vi]
Iodine Treats and Prevents Cancer
In concert with its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions, iodine affects several molecular pathways that are part of differentiation and apoptosis in cells. Ongoing epidemiological evidence points to iodine’s role in prevention and treatment of cancers through these effects.
High rates of goiter (iodine deficiency) correlates with higher rates of cancer mortality. This has been known for over a hundred years especially for breast and stomach cancer. Other cancers associated with low iodine goiter conditions include prostate cancer, endometrial, ovarian, colorectal, and thyroid cancer.
Cancer starts with iodine deficiencies just as it does with low oxygenation of tissues with no one looking into the fact that low iodine and low oxygenation of tissues are directly related. Doctors are still scratching their heads wondering why cancer rates have been exploding but do not pay attention to doctors like Brownstein who has seen over 90 percent deficiency rates among his patients and reports other doctors seeing the same.
Dr. Brownstein clearly lays out what we would expect to find in iodine deficient individuals. When iodine is deficient nodules form in key organs leading to pre-cancerous conditions and then eventually to full-blown cancer. He says, “Iodine’s main job is to maintain a normal architecture of those tissues. With iodine deficiency, the first thing that happens is you get cystic formation in the breasts, the ovaries, uterus, thyroid, prostate and, let’s throw in the pancreas in here as well, which is also increasing at epidemic rates – pancreatic cancer. Cysts start to form when iodine deficiency is there. If it goes on longer, they become nodular and hard. If it goes on longer, they become hyperplastic tissue, which is the precursor to cancer. I say that’s the iodine deficiency continuum.”
Brownstein continues, “The good thing about iodine is, iodine has apoptotic properties, meaning it can stop a cancer cell from just continually dividing, dividing, dividing until it kills somebody. Iodine can stop this continuum wherever it catches it and hopefully reverse it, but at least put the brakes on what is happening.”
