The Agony of Fukushima – If this is not one of the most disturbing reports you will ever read I will be surprised. If you do not take it as seriously as I do then I would propose that you will be setting the seeds for the premature death of you and your loved ones.
The newest update in the highly disconcerting series of devastating failures that is the Fukushima cleanup effort is very troubling. Plumes of steam have been rising from the mangled remains of Reactor Building 3, it seems. In other words, there’s a chance Fukushima could be in the middle of another meltdown.
The thing is, no one has been able to find out the exact cause of the rising, mysterious radioactive steam because the combination of physical damage and, more importantly, lethal radiation levels have made investigating the reactor impossible.
I started writing this fiftieth essay on Fukushima when I read the disturbing reports of steam coming out of building number four. But without any new disasters happening you have to take a trip into the nuclear hell that is raining down on the west coast of North America. You have to read 36 Signs The Media Is Lying To You About How Radiation From Fukushima Is Affecting The West Coast by Michael Snyder.
Synder starts his essay saying, “The west coast of the United States is being absolutely fried by radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and the mainstream media is not telling us the truth about this. What you are about to see is a collection of evidence that is quite startling. Taken collectively, this body of evidence shows that nuclear radiation from Fukushima is affecting sea life in the Pacific Ocean and animal life along the west coast of North America in some extraordinary ways. But the mainstream media continues to insist that we don’t have a thing to worry about. The mainstream media continues to insist that radiation levels in the Pacific and along the west coast are perfectly safe. Are they lying to us? Evaluate the evidence compiled below and come to your own conclusions…”
“You can expect an enormous amount of cancers” around Pacific — “We’re all at risk, this radiated water is going to hit right here” in U.S. — we’re at top of food chain, so we get highest radiation dose. Seafood catches off U.S. Pacific coast more likely to be contaminated than ones far closer to Japan — ‘Gravest danger’ to public is if they eat these products. Nice headlines to wake up to but wait, you have not seen statements like this on TV or in the New York Times?
Did you hear Fairewinds chief engineer Arnie Gundersen telling his fellow Americans that the boron between the nuclear fuel rods (in the spent fuel pool on top of building number four) has disintegrated? It was never designed for the temperatures it’s seen and it was never designed for saltwater. There’s no assurance that you’ve got boron neutron absorbers between the nuclear fuel rods. So you’ve got what we call an inadvertent criticality — you’ve got the chance of the nuclear fuel pool becoming a nuclear reactor when it didn’t want to be as they pull these rods out. So they have to be extraordinarily careful that they don’t snap a rod and extraordinarily careful that as they’re pulling these rods, they don’t cause an inadvertent criticality.
Gundersen is the nuclear engineer that told us that pulling the nuclear fuel rods out of pool number four, which they are doing now, was going to be as sticky as pulling cigarettes out of a crushed cigarette box when in fact you have to get each one out whole to not destroy much of the world with radiation. He has been warning us about the dangers of the various nuclear pools for over a year.
Two days ago I put a call into Arnie and just moments after publishing this essay I got the reply that, “These hot radioactive releases [not physically hot, but radioactive hot – meaning they contain radioactive fission products] have occurring for the entire 33 months following the triple meltdown. The difference now is that the only time we visibly notice these ongoing releases is on the cold days with atmospheric conditions cold enough to condense hot vapor into steam.”
Further below you will see some of the dire warnings that were being put out these past days and I have left them in to show that caution and evasive actions are entirely necessary. In this case a little fear is good. I for one, even though I live in the Southern Hemisphere, will be thinking decades in advance in terms of the protection I need to give my own children. After reading and researching this weekend I certainly feel more motivated.
Yes out of this reinforced building over a thousand rods need to be taken out one at a time over the next year. It’s the most dangerous job in human history and the radiation is getting worse around the plant making it more difficult to work there with precision. One of the main risks is that they will lose control of the plant completely and not even be able to get into it.
Even the tiniest mistake during an operation to extract over 1,300 fuel rods at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan could lead to a series of cascading failures with an apocalyptic outcome.

Nuclear researcher Christina Consolo said on Russian television that, “Although fuel rod removal happens on a daily basis at the 430+ nuclear sites around the world, it is a very delicate procedure even under the best of circumstances. What makes fuel removal at Fukushima so dangerous and complex is that it will be attempted on a fuel pool whose integrity has been severely compromised. However, it must be attempted as Reactor 4 has the most significant problems structurally, and this pool is on the top floor of the building.’
Lew Rockwell tells it like it is about why this will be a dangerous undertaking:
- The racks inside the pool that contain this fuel were damaged by the explosion in the early days of the accident.
- Zirconium cladding which encased the rods burned when water levels dropped, but to what extent the rods have been damaged is not known, and probably won’t be until removal is attempted.
- Saltwater cooling has caused corrosion of the pool walls, and probably the fuel rods and racks.
- The building is sinking.
- The cranes that normally lift the fuel were destroyed.
- Computer-guided removal will not be possible; everything will have to be done manually.
- TEPCO cannot attempt this process without humans who will manage this enormous task while being bombarded with radiation during the extraction and casking.
For all those who think nuclear radiation is safe and consent to be radiated by their doctor I offer the following report. Crew members in their mid-20’s from the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan are coming down with all sorts of radiation-related illnesses after being deployed less than 3 years ago to assist with earthquake rescue operations off the coast of Japan in 2011. It looks as though the onboard desalinization systems that take salt out of seawater to make it drinkable, were taking-in radioactive water from the ocean for the crew to drink, cook with and bathe in, before anyone realized there was a massive radiation spill into the ocean.
Charles Bonner, attorney representing sailors from the USS Ronald Reagan said "the crew members were not only going to the rescue by jumping into the water and rescuing people out of the water, but they were drinking desalinated sea water, bathing in it, until finally the captain of the USS Ronald Reagan alarmed people that they were encountering high levels of radiation."
Bonner says that as a result of this exposure, the 51 sailors have come down with a host of medical problems, "They have testicular cancer, they have thyroid cancers, they have leukemias, they have rectal and gynecological bleeding, a host of problems that they did not have before … people are going blind, pilots who had perfect eyesight but now have tumors on the brain. And it’s only been 3 years since they went in." Bonner pointed out that these service men and women are young people, ages 21, 22, 23 years old and no one in their family had ever suffered any of these kinds of illnesses before.
Everything above was just a warm up for this news, which I have not been able to confirm but it’s enough to scare the willies out of us because if it is not true today it could easily be tomorrow. This was published on what seems to be a solid site but there was no contact method and in going to TEPCO’s site I saw nothing but there have been other assorted reports on steam.
Persons residing on the west coast of North America should IMMEDIATELY begin preparing for another possible onslaught of dangerous atmospheric radiation from the Fukushima nuclear disaster site in Japan. The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) says radioactive steam has suddenly begun emanating from previously exploded nuclear reactor building #3 at the Fukushima disaster site in Japan. TEPCO says they do not know why this is happening and cannot go into the building to see what’s happening due to damage and lethal radiation levels in that building. Experts say this could be the beginning of a "spent fuel pool criticality (meltdown)" involving up to 89 TONS of nuclear fuel burning up into the atmosphere and heading to North America.
All doubts aside it would pay to be prudent, especially with one’s children, and head the advice of this video. Every word out of this person’s mouth makes sense. Americans and Canadians were not warned that there were meltdowns going on in three nuclear reactors across the ocean from them and many were exposed to hot particles as Gunderson pointed out in 2011. Again a criticality could be in progress, and it should come as no surprise to anyone, if that is truly what is happening, if again our governments and the media let us down.
While the above news item originating from the Turner Radio Network gains momentum on the Internet it is beginning to look more like they are playing up the news. The steam events coming out of Fukushima reactor #3, which are the basis of the claims of a new melt down, might only be the result of rain water coming into contact with hot parts of the reactor and not a catastrophic melt down. If that is not the case then it will pay to be cautious even when everyone around you is not paying attention to the possible dangers.
The situation at the crippled nuclear plant is only getting worse. Tokyo Electric Power Co. said Dec. 6 it detected the highest estimated radiation level for an outdoor location at the crippled Fukushima No. 1 nuclear plant. The reading of 25 sieverts per hour was taken on steel piping near an exhaust stack for the No. 1 and No. 2 reactors, TEPCO said. The utility earlier said high radiation levels of at least 10 sieverts per hour were found on the piping.
The world has to admit that Tepco has no idea how to stabilize the reactors. They even have no idea where the nuclear cores are, are not able to get into certain buildings, and the radiation keeps getting worse. We might breathe a sigh of relief if we do not have a new meltdown criticality happening but that breath will be short lived as the kill off of multiple animal species suggests.
Elisabeth Rosenthal wrote in the New York Times that experts hesitate to predict where the radiation will go. Once radioactive elements that can harm health are released into the outdoors, their travel patterns are as mercurial as the weather and as complicated as the food chains and biochemical pathways along which they move. When and where radioactive contamination becomes a problem depends on a vast array of factors: the specific element released, which way the wind is blowing, whether rain will bring suspended radioactivity to earth, and what types of crops and animals are in an exposed area.
“Because of the world ocean currents, the seafood that’s caught off the US Pacific coast is more likely to contain radionuclides than the seafood in the Sea of Okhotsk, which is by far closer to Japan. It is these marine products that may find their way to the tables of different countries’ residents that pose the gravest danger, says Maxim Shingarkin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources.
You really do not want to be caught dead eating a radiocuclide! Now what do you think of our lovely world governments who are not warning the public about things like this?
According to the National Academy of Sciences, there are no safe doses of radiation. Decades of research show clearly that any dose of radiation increases an individual’s risk for the development of cancer.
“There is no safe level of radionuclide exposure, whether from food, water or other sources. Period,” said Jeff Patterson, DO, immediate past president of Physicians for Social Responsibility. “Exposure to radionuclides, such as iodine-131 and cesium-137, increases the incidence of cancer. For this reason, every effort must be taken to minimize the radionuclide content in food and water.”
“Consuming food containing radionuclides is particularly dangerous. If an individual ingests or inhales a radioactive particle, it continues to irradiate the body as long as it remains radioactive and stays in the body,” said Alan H. Lockwood, MD, a member of the Board of Physicians for Social Responsibility.
The National Council on Radiation Protection says, “… every increment of radiation exposure produces an incremental increase in the risk of cancer.” The Environmental Protection Agency says, “… any exposure to radiation poses some risk, i.e. there is no level below which we can say an exposure poses no risk.” The Department of Energy says about “low levels of radiation” that “… the major effect is a very slight increase in cancer risk.” The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says, “Any amount of radiation may pose some risk for causing cancer … any increase in dose, no matter how small, results in an incremental increase in risk.”
Therefore we urge everyone to be prepared. Gather together the things you will need to protect yourself from higher radiation exposures. Review the recommendations I have made previously for radiation protection since we don’t know for sure when or how soon we will be needing to take action.
One reader wrote me indicating, “That it’s way past time for everyone on the west coast to wear a proper mask to filter out the radiation in the air. The way sea life is dying in droves makes me think that humans are not far behind. I can see now why they have been building underground cities.”
Bottom line Uranium – the ‘demon metal’ that threatens us all. Read Chris Busby’s essay! It does not matter what anyone says the nuclear industry is a nightmare of unlimited proportions and will continue to threaten our existence through hundreds of other nuclear plants that are all time bombs on the surface of our planet. Human stupidity knows no bounds when it comes to nuclear power and nuclear weapons.
