Cannabis Treats Cancer and Epilepsy

Description: Medical Marijuana

Dr. Sean McAllister and Pierre Desprez claim they’ve successfully used cannabidiol to fight animal genes involved in the spread of cancer. "We found this one compound had a specific effect on metastatic cancer cells, very aggressive tumor cells," McAllister says. Cannabidiol, the research appears to show, helps shut down receptors that inhibit cancerous cells from metastasizing.  "We find when you treat with cannabidiol, you down regulate the expression of this protein, and that inhibits the disease process." Unlike THC, the ingredient in marijuana that makes you feel stoned, cannabidiol is a non-toxic compound of the plant that has no psychoactive qualities.

I already published that marijuana is the best medicine for 3-year-old Cash Hyde of Missoula, Montana. The boy’s parent’s defied doctor’s orders—and Montana law—to get their hands on the medicinal treatment their son needed after he was diagnosed with recurring brain tumors at 22 months old. “I’ve had law enforcement threatening to kick my door down, but I would have done anything to keep Cashy alive,” said Mike Hyde, who has long been a proponent of the drug, told ABCNews.com.

My book on Medical Marijuana goes into the research from around the globe, including from Harvard University that sustains the conclusions of doctors McAllister and Desprez.

Dixie Botanicals is shipping Cannabidiol from Denver Colorado to all fifty states though of course one can grow marijuana oneself and or use regular marijuana strains if one lives in one of the now fifteen states that has made medical marijuana legal.

I take great exception to the Obama administration that has continued to resist the legalization on a federal level of medical marijuana. They still insist that there is no medical use for marijuana when all the science proves the government to be dead wrong. They hunt the world for terrorists but some of the worst live and work right in Washington DC. Terrorists are people who hurt others and I do not see the difference between those who use guns and those who use drugs or deny the population the natural substances they need to be well.

Of course marijuana is extremely effective for other diseases. The most recent I have read about: Medical pot treats boy’s epilepsy, without getting him high. The little boy has been swallowing droppers full of a solution made mostly of cannabidiol, or CBD, the second most prominent of marijuana’s 100 or so cannabinoids. Unlike the dominant THC, cannabidiol is not psychoactive, so the sweet-tasting infusion Jayden takes four times a day doesn’t make him high.

Down from 22 prescription pills per day to four, he now eats solid food, responds to his father’s incessant requests for kisses and dances in his Modesto living room to the “Yo Gabba Gabba!” theme song. The frequency and intensity of his seizures have been greatly reduced.

CBD was virtually bred out of U.S. plants decades ago by growers whose customers preferred the mind-altering properties of high-THC varietals. Yet it is experiencing a resurgence, having shown promise as an anti-inflammatory, anticonvulsant, neuroprotectant and cancer-fighting agent.

Studies have shown THC is “overwhelmingly anticonvulsant” in animals, said Dr. Ben Whalley, a researcher at Britain’s University of Reading, but CBD and some other non-psychoactive cannabinoids have shown similar effects without the mind-altering downside.

How would you know how much to use for anti-seizure use? 18 year old 120 lbs.

    • Judith

Grand mal seizures and autism. I know I’d need to talk to someone- just trying to get a ball park figure (female). Looking at the oil- concentration of oil and how much to start?

Unfortunately there are no standardizations for dosages of CBD for various problems as yet. It is mostly done by trial and error at this point or by talking with someone who has some experience with this. It is always advised to start slowly with smaller amounts and build up to where you see effects on seizure activity.
You can get better direction from Dr. Sircus himself as he knows a lot about this. Please consider a consultation with him and he will tell you where to start.

Good day to all: Where or whom can supply the treatment? Ironically I´m living in Colombia South America and I need to import and distribute the products to all. Thank´s junglebunnycol@yahoo.com

  • jack

I appreciiate the efforts of the Dixie Botanicals research teams in creating this fine product.
I;m sure it is most beneficial. But when speaking in general terms for those who have been around since the 1960′s, the asking price for this item is out of the ballpark for most people. I can see the intense demand for this product with all the negative side effects from AMA medical claims and procedures. But the whole point of offering this very old and simple product to the public with a price tag far greater than the prices associated with pharmacy medicines seems ridiculous. Medical hemp plants are a simple weed, but have taken on the provincial color of an un-affordable item. At the prices Dixie is asking for their products i am afraid many people will turn back towards the AMA for help and a lower price.

The price range for simple oils for cancer cures should remain below $100 if they are looking for business…because one can grow their own and make their own extracts for under $20.

    • http://drsircus.com/ Claudia French

      Jack,

I really agree with you about the high prices being charged for this product…..they are really out of reach for most people. Consider when using it for pain, it costs so much less to get the pharmaceutical pain killers than it does to buy Dixie products or the Dixie Scrips capsules which are $11 a piece I believer. Especially since insurance doesn’t cover any of the costs of the Dixie products.
We can only hope that they bring down their prices very soon. Everyone should give their opinions on this to the company!
      Claudia

How can I grow my own and extract the oil, can you help me? junglebunnycol@yahoo.com

      • http://drsircus.com/ Claudia French

Andres, Dr. Sircus’ protocol is designed for each person to be able to treat themselves at home. If you are asking about becoming a distributor of the products in his protocol we can put you in touch with the people who do the distribution for the products as we do not do that here at the IMVA, It is not clear from you questions if you want to treat yourself or if you are looking to distribute the protocol products.
Dr. Sircus has started a special group who will be learning his full protocol and will receive a certification showing their competency in teaching and practicing his Natural Allopathic Protocol. Please see this essay which tells all about that and includes the application. Applications are still being accepted for a few days then membership will be closed.
Personally I do not know the import laws for Columbia, so I cannot say what problems you might have in importing the products Dr. Sircus recommends.
Please write to support@drsircus.com to discuss your needs further if they pertain to becoming a distributor in Columbia.
As to growing and making your own cannabis oil there are many sites on the Internet that explain how to do this. We recommend you read the directions for doing this at:
http://www.cureyourowncancer.org/rick-simpson.html and be sure to see Rick Simpson’s cautions about which oils are the good oils.

        Claudia French

        • http://www.zenoracleguides.com Satiah

If you want to make your own oil, it is best to go to Youtube and search for ANYTHING on Rick Simpson. He will show you in his videos how to make it. You would have to grow it yourself, and in an article on the website Phoenix Tears, he has a reference to where to buy seeds and books on how to grow, plus giving reference to the best solvent to use when washing the plants.

Can this be used along with sodium bicarb for prostate cancer spread into the hip? Are there any contraindications? What kind of dosing is idea for a 215 lb. male?

    • http://drsircus.com/ Claudia French

      Hi davees,

Both cannabidiol and baking soda are high on Dr. Sircus’ protocol for cancer treatments. No contraindications to using both, though would separate when you take oral doses of each. You need to get the Treatment Essentials Book and start on the full protocol or get a consultation as we just cannot provide advice for each individual person here …more information is needed from you and dosing is frequently a matter of some trial and error……..sodium bicarbonate for example ….the dosing depends on your daily pH levels…you adjust according to that to get pH up to the level where it will affect cancer cells.

Excellent article. I love all your articles and have read almost all of them
from all the different categories listed above (top right of this page).

Just a suggestion, but would Dr Sircus consider starting a new category on
heart disease. It could cover all the causes, link to other articles and
sources, dispel the myth of cholesterol, reveal that Vitamin C deficiency is a
far more important risk factor, talk about trans fats and margarines, etc. What
do you think? – here is a good place to start:

      Thanks for the suggestion anti_banker!

We do need to get a ‘heart’ or ‘cardiac’ category put into the topics section at the upper right corner. Dr. Sircus has written quite a bit about this and a book called The Ultimate Heart Medicine on the importance of magnesium in heart functioning.
For now you can put whatever topic you want related to the heart into the search box at top right and it will bring up the essays related to this that Dr. Sircus has published online….for instance “heart”, “cholesterol” etc. Many of his articles contain links to others who have also written on the heart.
      Thanks again!

Dr. Sircus: cancer benefits are not for products that do not have THC, correct? Therefore, the Dixie that has less than 3% THC, is not useful for cancer, right?

    • http://drsircus.com/ Claudia French

      Robert,

You are very wrong here…..the CBD products from Dixie that have no THC in them are definitely on the protocol of Dr. Sircus for cancer treatment!! The studies of its benefits are mounting and the company (MJNA) has even recently entered into some agreement with NIH through one of their holdings.
The availability of this Dixie CBD product OTC, without prescription , and in all of the United States right now is a HUGE benefit to cancer patients!!! Do an Internet search on CBD and cancer…you will be quite amazed even though the research is still in its infancy on this! And get Dr.Sircus’ book on Medical Marijuana and do a search on his site on Cannabidiol and read all the essays on this.
