Love The One You’re With

There is nothing better than love. Love is the only thing that all the money in the world cannot buy. It is precious, and if you have some, cultivate it, let it grow and blossom, cherish it, work on it, and listen to everything your loved one says.

One has to program oneself for love by cherishing the vulnerability of being and the tears of the melting heart. Thirty-two years ago, I met my future wife, though we were friends and married to others for two or three years, but she, my wife now of twenty-nine years, Luciana, was the most vulnerable person I had ever met. We couldn’t have a conversation without tears rolling down her face, so I fell in love with her right away because I cherish vulnerability above all else.

A few years later, I was writing my book, The Marriage of Souls, The Second Coming of Pure Love, and she was the first—and only—person I said out loud, “I feel married to you in my soul.” It was not until six months later that we had our first kiss, and then I fell head over heels in love with a person I already loved. And she fell for crazy me.

Love held us together through all the conflicts we had in the first 15 years, but the truth was that when we fought, it was always so painful that we had to kiss and make up fast. We practiced Creative Conflict, were brutally honest with each other, and became each other’s therapists. Of course, being a Communication Psychologist helped, but love was our glue.

Through the years, we evolved together, and if possible, our love and mutual understanding only grew. Then the conflicts disappeared, and we matured further. For the first twenty-three years, we slept together, and then we had our own spaces, which, incredibly, deepened our love. So we developed absolute independence while swimming in our almost overwhelming love—dependence and autonomy simultaneously.

Soul love is free but intensely committed, intensely loving.
We humans need to love and trust deeply.
There are many beings walking this planet with beautiful hearts
that is deserving of our love, but the secret of course
is to become one of them, a being with a love light
shining out of our hearts. We need to give
what we would want to receive.

Now we have separate homes. She prefers the city, and I’m still in love with my Sanctuary deep in nature, so we go back and forth, spending only half the time together, maybe a little more. But when we are not physically together, we can share our love virtually every day, so she is my ground, and I am her rock.

It’s been a few years since we fought over anything or had any misunderstandings, which is quite remarkable since we are both such strong beings. And our love still grows, which amazes me. I do feel like one of the wealthiest people in the world because of the love and all the good fortune we have here in Brazil.

Lately, I have been feeling the pure soul bond. I know I am alive today because of her, able to do the work I do, speak the truth I do, and be so vulnerable, and that is my greatest strength.

When the vulnerability of a being meets up with an equal vulnerability
of being a strong bonding force is naturally set up between these
two beings. Open hearts can do nothing but love, and when two
such hearts meet explosions of love are made manifest, and
there is nothing we or anyone else can do about it. No power
on earth, can dissolve the love of two persons if that love is true.

I have written a lot about love. Just search my site for love, vulnerability, and the tears of the melting heart. And yet these last two months on X have been me pouring out my passion in a most confrontational manner as I see the most terrible things happening in the world. The world is going over a cliff, so I write today about love and loving the one you’re with to anchor us as the clouds darken and insanity insinuates itself upon the world.
