Can you imagine when love is not needed or wanted? In this crazy 21st century, it seems love has never been more necessary. And out in the great wide world, we could say love and trust has never been more lacking.
I have, for the past four months, gone through hell with my body when dengue fever met up with my undiagnosed cardiovascular disease. What saved me and made me want to be here is love. Not only the incredible love and understanding my wife gave me every day, but my love for her greatly motivated me to live when, for a few days, I wanted to die.
I have defined love as listening. It was a challenging moment for my wife and me as we finally discovered the nature of a long-term illness, which was the blocking of my arteries and vessels. Not only physically but mentally and emotionally, I cracked and got depressed and was full of doubts after having conquered my fearful, doubting self two decades ago. She had to listen to it all and did. Perfect and necessary therapy.
Also, the love from my readers and patients carried me and supported me in believing in myself again after only seeing darkness. I have been getting a lot of lovely mail from my loyal followers. And now, in synchronicity with changing events in a positive direction, people are beginning to pay for my substack subscriptions. It is taking a lot of pressure off me, and I appreciate the support immensely.
As most of you might have noticed, no matter my condition, I always show up for my writing and publish my newsletters without pause. The love of my work gets me to my desk seven days a week, no matter how I feel.
Love makes all the difference in life; if one does not have someone to love, love for animals is as beautiful. How many people would agree that love is one of life’s necessities, yet how many live without deep love? It is not easy to gain perfect love in our intimate relationships. It takes a lot of work to develop that. Perfect love and understanding are precious. I think many would agree with me that love comes much easier with animals.
I do not think many would argue with me that it is not an exceptionally loving civilization we come to when we are born. Just think of those pediatricians ready to clobber us on our first day of life with Hep B vaccines loaded with aluminum. It used to be loaded with mercury. Yes, the intelligence and caring of modern medicine ends right there at birth, vaccinating babies for a disease they are not vulnerable to.
Communication is love. Listening is love.
These two most practical definitions of love combine to form a context where love can be understood, measured, learned, and practiced.
P.S. I want to thank my paid subscribers! Your support is greatly appreciated as it allows me to devote what is often a significant amount of time I spend researching and writing my posts. I believe in an ethos of paying people for their work, but I do not require payment as I seldom place any content behind a paywall. If you love this Substack, get value out of it, and believe in paying people for their work, consider a paid subscription. You will receive discounts on any consultation you do with me, and will eventually communicate with my paid subscribers to see what else we can work out.
I have known for 20 years that times would darken and that I would need to shine my light brighter as it does. There is no way that world events and life will not hurt in the months and years ahead. I promise to be a strong voice. There will be significant and often sudden shifts in perception as layers of lies unravel, as life unravels for more and more people. We will need wisdom to navigate life’s rapids, and I hope to share mine as much as possible with my readers.
