Conditions Are Starting to Look Like The Beginning of the Next Mini Ice Age

Published on February 4, 2026

AccuWeather forecast graphic titled “Daily Record-Challenging Lows,” listing forecast low temperatures for several Florida cities compared with historical records.

Conditions were growing more dire in parts of the South still reeling from subfreezing temperatures and widespread power outages as vehicles got stranded for hours on major highways and officials warned last Wednesday that people stuck at home were running out of food, medicine, and other essentials. “There was nowhere to go, nothing to do, no one to save us,” said Samantha Lewis, 78. “Calls of desperation.” For many, especially those who are going without heat the cold can easily turn into a health emergency.

When will it be time to start taking cold climate change seriously? If you want to believe the experts, there is no snow on the ground because they say we are living in a time of increased, dramatic warming. Meaning the powers that be continue to lie and they will not stop lying even if it snows in Miami. You would think the conservatives would be screaming from the rooftops though to his credit Trump has pulled out of all climate accords. Of notable climate news Cuba recorded its first-ever freeze. For the first time in Cuba’s instrumental record, a verified freezing temperature has been observed.

As of Monday, more than 240 million people across more than 40 states, from Arizona to Maine, were slammed by a historic winter storm that extended over 2,300 miles and delivered deadly snow and ice. At least 82 people were killed across over a dozen states due to the extreme cold and severe weather conditions. Meanwhile, in the middle of summer here in the South, we read of a cruise ship stuck in Antartic Ice.

People who were prepared to manage a couple of days without power can’t go much longer without help. “They’re cold, they don’t have power, they don’t have heat, they’re out of propane, they’re out of wood, they’re out of kerosene for their kerosene heaters,” she said. “They have no food, they have no additional fuel for their alternative heating sources, so they’re needing out,” said LaRae Sliger, an emergency management director. The persistent cold will have heating bills soaring.

Hundreds of thousands remained without power, particularly in the South, where catastrophic ice accumulation snapped swaths of trees and brought down power lines, leaving communities in life-threatening conditions. Global cooling is just beginning and already we see that life itself could hang on a thread so no wonder why so any Americans are thinking about moving because of extreme climate change. Yes it is extreme already but has nothing to do with manmade global warming. But the elite idiots of the world, recently gathered in Davos continue to show they care not for humanity. Not only giving no warning for civilization to prepare for cold times ahead but continuing their repeated alarmism and stupidnest about Net Zero goals.

The recent winter storm knocked out power to more than 1 million U.S. homes and businesses at one point, as electrical systems struggled with high winds and prolonged freezes. School closures in the Southeast stretch into 2nd week after latest winter storm

In Florida, temperatures fell as low as 18F (-7.8C), an extreme reading for the peninsula. Along the central and east coast, multiple long-standing February records were broken or tied. Sanford and Leesburg each dropped to 23F (-5C), tying their coldest February lows ever recorded. Daytona Beach fell to 23F (-5C), its coldest February temperature in weather books dating back to 1923. Melbourne fell to 24F (-4.4C), also establishing a new monthly record in books back to 1937.

Miami International Airport registered 35F (1.7C) — a reading just 3F shy of the city’s February record low, ranking as the fourth-coldest February temperature since records began in 1937 and the coldest February reading there since 1947. The January 2026 U.S. winter storm has already crushed well over 2,000 cold records (NOAA). Fortunately it has started to warm up in Miami.

When it comes to ‘official’ NOAA benchmarks, over the past seven days alone, the U.S. has set 2,000+ new daily low temperature records (vs just 39 for warmth), as well as more than 50 monthly and at least 10 all-time lows.

Tropical Cold Records Shattered

The cold surge extended even deeper south into the Tropics, delivering rare and in some cases historic temperatures across Central America and the Caribbean. In Belize, Gallon Jug dropped to 5.4C (41.7F). That is the country’s lowest temperature since December 1968, and the coldest-ever February reading in records extending back to 1895.

Farther south in El Salvador, highland cold intensified. Finca Los Andes fell to 3.5C (38.3F), establishing a new monthly record. In Guatemala, Los Altos plunged to -2C (28.4F), a hard freeze, while Guatemala City registered a rare 7.2C (45F).

Russia – Moscow Logs Snowiest January In 203 Years

Overnight on Jan 29, Moscow was buried under one of its heaviest snowfalls on record. Snow of as much as 62.5 cm (24.6 in) hit the capital, making for what is now the snowiest January in books dating back 203 years, according to the Moscow State University Meteorological Observatory. Roads are impassable in large parts, with emergency services struggling:

Europe Breaks Cold Records

Eastern Europe is freezing hard, with Lithuania registering its lowest temperatures in at least 30 years. Šeduva plunged to -34.3C (-29.7F) on Feb 3, Ukmergė to -34C (-29.2F), and Joniškis to -33.9C (-29F). These are the coldest national readings since the -35C (-31F) set at Utena on Feb 8, 1996. Many stations broke longerstanding localized records, mostly from 1987 and 1980. Nearby Ukraine dropped to -27.3C (-17.1F) — an exceptional low. Poland reached -25.4C (-13.7F):

Gas buffers are already thin in Europe. As of Feb 1, Europe is sitting around 16 percentage points below its normal early-February storage level. Germany, France, and the Netherlands are already at levels typically seen closer to early March — before the latest cold burst. To survive, Europe’s energy system now requires mild winters and unlimited LNG at sustainable prices. They will get neither.

Antarctica’s Deep Summer Freeze

On Jan 31, Concordia Station recorded a rare -47.6C (-53.7F). Two days later, Vostok went even better, posting -49.8C (-57.6F). These is an exceptionally low temperature for early February, during Antarctica’s austral summer (when temperatures are at their annual peak). The -49.8C at Vostok is actually a record for the time of year. (Note: the January record low is -48.7C, set in 2023).

Sad Conclusion

From the BBC we read, “Fear, anxiety, sadness, anger, dread and powerlessness are some of the many emotions associated with what’s called climate anxiety. A global survey of 10,000 young people aged between 16–25 years, found that 60% were very worried about climate change, and nearly half said that their anxiety negatively effects their daily life.”
